We’re excited to be sponsoring this year’s Haunted Trail in Asheville! Our Power House will be there to help power some spooky attractions and the ghoulish Glow Trail!

This family-friendly Halloween event features 18 spooky scenes with over 50 actors, designed for kids 12 and under. Enjoy pirate-themed escape rooms, live mermaid encounters, bonfires with s'mores, and more. With food, drinks, and fun activities like the aerial glow trail, it's the perfect October night out for families. For younger kids, there's the "Sweet Peek Tour" before dark.

National Drive Electric Week Event

We’re incredibly excited to be sponsoring the 2024 Asheville Drive Electric event! We’ll be there with our Power House to showcase solar in action! We’ll also be there to talk solar and battery backup, and answer any questions you may have regarding incentives or the installation process.

Ten years ago, in 2014 at the Public Works parking lot on the corner of Charlotte Street and Eagle Street, the Blue Ridge EV Club hosted its first National Drive Electric Event. At that time there were three main EVs: Leafs, Model Ss, and Volts.  The world of EVs has certainly changed:

On Sunday September 29th, 2024, in collaboration with Sugar Hollow Solar, Asheville Hunter Volvo, and the Tanger Asheville Outlets,  the Blue Ridge EV Club will host its 11th annual National Drive Electric event at the Tanger Asheville Outlets from noon to 4pm.

At the event you will be able to see and ride in a wide variety of EVs.   You can find electric cars, trucks, and bikes from Volvo, Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Subaru, Hyundai, Tesla, Kia, Polestar, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Nissan, Honda, Genesis, Mitsubishi, Rivian, Lucid, BMW, Porsche, Harley Davidson

Ani & Wanei Culture Fest

Come enjoy a gathering of Cherokee and Appalachian people! You can join a Cherokee Friendship Dance or taste frybread tacos, listen to a native flute musician or an Appalachian guitarist, browse for Appalachian and Cherokee art, and meet the Cherokee Royalty. There will be face painting and puppet shows for the kids. Come, join hands to get to know another prominent culture in these mountain communities. Curious about solar energy? Our friends at MountainTrue are holding another Brainy Brews with a focus on solar energy, and we'll be there to present at at the The River Arts District Brewing Company September Wednesday the 18th!

At Brainy Brews we'll discuss what solar energy is, how it benefits the environment (and you), financial incentives and tax benefits for 2024, and steps for getting started. Don’t forget that Sugar Hollow Solar is providing a $300 donation to MountainTrue for anyone who signs a contract and mentions MountainTrue. We will also buy your first drink at the event if you bring your power bill. Join us as we work toward clean energy together.

There will be light snacks but guests are welcome to bring their own food.

Seating is first come, first serve so come on the early side if you can to snag your spot.

MountainTrue Green Drinks Earth Day celebration

Join us as we Celebrate the beauty and importance of our planet at Mountain True’s Earth Day Celebration! We’ll be at The Funkatorium for an evening of environmental appreciation. We’ll be gathering with the wonderful folks from MountainTrue to celebrate the meaningful work they do day in and day out and the victories they have achieved in protecting the places we all love and share.

Raise a glass with us at this casual gathering and commemorate with fellow MountainTrue supporters and staff.

To help MountainTrue say a HUGE thank you to their volunteers who have gotten in the weeds, in the mud, and in the water with them, Wicked Weed has graciously offered to provide one free beer/wine or n/a drink to each volunteer that has volunteered with MountainTrue in April 2024. Volunteers should check in at the MountainTrue table to receive their complimentary drink ticket.
